Levan Izoria – 3-year frame-agreement to be signed with US in defense sphere

Levan Izoria, Georgian Defense Minister, being on a visit in the US, met with John Rood, US Under Secretary of Defense for Policy.

Strategic partnership issues and future cooperation plans were discussed during the meeting. The necessity to increase the scale and format of multinational training for enhancement of security in the Black Sea region were considered.

According to Izoria, the 3-year frame-agreement will be signed with the US in autumn. “This will give Georgia the opportunity to come closer to NATO with quality of cooperation,” Izoria claimed.
