Lelo's Khazaradze announces tax issue linked to Peter Fischer rental contract resolved after proper registration
“A budget tax issue was discovered regarding the rental contract signed with Peter Fischer [Ambassador of Germany to Georgia], after appropriate registration, the outstanding tax obligation was fully settled,” writes Lelo leader Mamuka Khazaradze on social media.
According to Khazaradze, the issue is now resolved.
“For the last three days, Bidzina Ivanishvili’s slave parrots, the so-called MPs Volski, Sharmanashvili, Shakarashvili and their propagandist media have launched a frenzied campaign against my family. Unfortunately, I am only able to respond to this unscrupulous propaganda today. The issue concerns a rental contract with the German Ambassador for real estate owned by my wife, which was managed and registered in compliance with all legal requirements.
However, we identified a tax issue ourselves last week, arising from a misunderstanding regarding source taxation or non-taxation. Upon discovering the matter, we promptly submitted an appeal to the Revenue Service, completed the necessary registration, and fully settled the outstanding tax obligations, thereby resolving the issue in its entirety.
Here, I want to remind these hypocrites that I and the companies I created pay hundreds of millions of lari to the budget annually! I have repeatedly called on both you and Bidzina to publish your own contributions to the budget, as well as mine. Also, don’t forget to ask about those 400 million lari that Ivanishvili recently withdrew from the Georgian people and budget in January through the ‘offshore’ law that you crafted specifically for him; though, nothing is surprising from Russian, corrupt so-called Georgian Dream MPs. The Georgian people will hold you accountable for this and many other crimes!” writes Mamuka Khazaradze.
Today, the Revenue Service issued a statement regarding the rental of real estate owned by Mamuka Khazaradze’s family to the German Ambassador. According to the statement, an analysis of the matter uncovered a potential violation of tax laws, prompting the Revenue Service to initiate an investigation into the facts.
