Lelo’s Gegelia on Saakashvili’s transfer to prison: Millions are in captivity, their European future taken away

“Today, the entire nation of Georgia is in captivity, not only opposition politicians, activists, and citizens, but also millions of Georgians who have had their state, their European future, and their constitution stripped away from them,” declared Grigol Gegelia, a member of the Lelo-Strong Georgia party.

According to Gegelia, these people are acutely aware of the gravity of the situation.

“In such circumstances, I believe it matters less who is in the clinic and who is in prison, because millions are currently behind bars, and many are imprisoned for their political beliefs. For me, the priority is to free these individuals, rather than to focus on the whereabouts of any specific person. It is no surprise that one of the political prisoners is also in prison. Given that, in reality, all opposition leaders are incarcerated, it is evident that many people are behind bars for their political views,” Gegelia stated.

On November 12, former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili was transferred from the Vivamedi Clinic to Penitentiary Institution N12.
