Lelo's Elisashvili confirms joint Tbilisi mayoral candidate with Gakharia for Georgia, final decision pending

“Lelo and Gakharia for Georgia will field a joint candidate for the Tbilisi mayoral race, although the final decision has not yet been made,” Aleko Elisashvili, one of the leaders of Lelo-Strong Georgia, stated.

According to Elisashvili, both parties are currently considering several potential candidates for the October 4 local elections.

“The deadline for nominating mayoral candidates is September 4. We will not extend this deadline, and the candidate will be announced before then. Lelo and Gakharia for Georgia will present a joint candidate for Tbilisi’s mayoralty, though the final choice has not been finalised,” he stated.

When asked whether Giorgi Gakharia’s team opposes his candidacy, Elisashvili responded: “I have no idea.”
