Lelo party leaders demand court testimony from Tea Tsulukiani

The leaders of the Lelo for Strong Georgia party, Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze, have requested that the chairwoman of the temporary investigative commission of the parliament, Tea Tsulukiani, be questioned in court.

The opposition leaders’ lawyers have submitted a formal request to the parliament, which they describe as “illegitimate,” according to a statement released by the party’s press office.

Khazaradze and Japaridze want to question Tsulukiani as a witness regarding the investigative commission that prompted prosecutors to launch an investigation against them.

The lawyers state that “Tea Tsulukiani and commission members will need to explain to the court all statements and actions that took place during the work of the so-called investigative commission.

Tsulukiani has been given three days to respond to the request.
