Lelo Party leader declines to attend facts-finding commission meeting investigating 2003-2012 government

Mamuka Khazaradze, the leader of the Lelo for Georgia party, announced that he would not attend the interim facts-finding commission meeting investigating the 2003-2012 government in Parliament.

In a Facebook post, Khazaradze stated that he received an invitation from the “illegitimate parliament” but would not participate in what he termed a “circus show.”

“First, summon Bidzina Ivanishvili, who has financed the United National Movement regime for seven years. Ask him how many millions he invested in support of the UNM. Call all the judges and prosecutors from the National Movement who grossly violated human rights and are now comfortably integrated into the Georgian Dream,” he wrote.

“I do not recognize this so-called parliament, a force that seized the elections; not a single democratic state acknowledges it. It is as legitimate as its established commission, which seeks to weaponize political persecution and damage my reputation after five years.

Regrettably, the Georgian Dream is indifferent to the people’s needs amid the economic crisis and invents single-party commissions instead of pursuing national interests.

I want to emphasize that despite the court’s bias under Bidzina’s influence, I have never evaded the judiciary, and I will not do so now. If you have claims against me, take it to court. This commission is utterly unserious and comic!

P.S. The propaganda government of the Georgian Dream has been spreading slanderous lies about me for the past five years. Last year, a court in Strasbourg accepted our complaint regarding this slander, and we await their judgment!” Khazaradze concluded.

Both Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze, leaders of the Lelo party, were summoned to attend the meeting of the interim facts-finding investigation commission regarding the 2003-2012 government.
