The Parliament of Georgia will open its fall session on September 1.

Based on the Parliament’s Rules of Procedure, the autumn session opens on the first Tuesday of September and closes on the third Friday of December.

The bureau sitting was held on August 31. Lawmakers reviewed new legislative initiatives and organizational issues.

Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili congratulated MPs on the commencement of the fall session and wished them success.

“Alongside the bills currently underway, various major reforms are also in the process. We have the opportunity to utilize the autumn and spring sessions to work on adopting the planned legislative initiatives.

Parliamentary Committees and Friendship Groups are scheduled to hold significant visits. Accordingly, we should utilize the autumn session to maintain the momentum of parliamentary diplomacy. Regarding committee work, it is welcome that the committees used the summer period for meetings in the regions and for off-site sessions. The committees have full support from the parliament and the Parliament Speaker,” he said.
