According to the statement issued by Strong Georgia-Lelo, their representatives in municipal councils will serve as defenders of the people’s interests and advocates for the needs of the local population.

As outlined in a release from the party’s press service, today, in 57 municipal councils across Georgia, local leaders of Strong Georgia-Lelo will simultaneously demand the establishment of investigative commissions dedicated to examining corruption cases within each municipality.

“While Georgian Dream continues its illusory fight against corruption, we aim to genuinely expose, investigate, and eradicate it. That is why, today, in 57 Georgian municipal councils, the local leaders of Strong Georgia–Lelo are calling for the creation of temporary working groups or investigative commissions to scrutinise corruption allegations at the local level. This is the most effective way to combat corruption on the ground, in our cities and villages. Strong Georgia–Lelo firmly believes that all those responsible for embezzling public funds must be held accountable.

Every tetri stolen deprives citizens of better healthcare, education, security, and functioning infrastructure. From the very first day in municipal councils, we are launching our fight against Georgian Dream with this very issue. We will uncover every deception and expose the corrupt practices hidden behind GD’s façade. In cities and villages, within municipal councils, our representatives will stand as guardians of the people’s interests and champions of the community’s needs.

The Georgian Dream is the most corrupt government in Georgia’s history, systematically plundering citizens at every level. A key component of this corrupt system is the widespread misconduct within municipalities. That is why today, in the 57 Sakrebulos of Georgia, we demand the establishment of an investigative commission to examine the corruption crimes committed by local officials over the past eight years,” states the Strong Georgia-Lelo coalition.
