Law enforcers charged with physical assault of journalist Rogava, youngster Maisashvili sent to prison
The court sentenced three law enforcement officers charged with violence against journalist Guram Rogava and youngster Zviad Maisashvili during protest rallies at Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi to imprisonment as a preventive measure.
The case prosecutor Giorgi Nadiradze said that the charged law enforcers admitted their guilt.
“During today’s court hearing, in the case of Guram Rogava and Zviad Maisashvili, the charged individuals were sentenced to imprisonment as a punishment measure. The issue does not end or resolve with this. In both cases, much work was done, and this is precisely the result of initiating criminal proceedings against five individuals, although the investigation is still ongoing. All three charged individuals admitted their guilt,” said Giorgi Nadiradze.
