Law enforcement seizes 1,107 packs of narcotics and arrests two individuals

Officers from the Gldani-Nadzaladevi Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department, under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia (MIA), have apprehended two people identified as I.G., born in 1986, and N.G., born in 2000, the latter of whom has a prior conviction. They face charges of facilitating the illegal purchase, possession, and sale of narcotics as part of an organised group.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, law enforcement officers conducted searches of the suspects’ personal and residential premises in Rustavi, uncovering and seizing 1,107 packs of narcotics, known as ‘bio’, prepared for sale, from various locations as evidence.

“The police also recovered materials necessary for packaging the drugs, including adhesive tapes, electronic scales, and polyethene ziplock bags,” the Ministry stated.

The investigation remains ongoing under Articles 260 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code, which carry penalties of up to 20 years’ imprisonment or a life sentence.
