Lasha Beridze: I am warrior; while some draw parallels with 1924 uprising, we will win, our fight is peaceful

“I won’t consider myself the victim of the regime. I am a warrior. They drew a parallel with the 1924 uprising, but we will not share the fate of those people; we will win,” said Lasha Beridze, a representative of the Strategy Aghmashenebeli party and a member of the October 4 rally organisation committee, during his trial.

According to Lasha Beridze, their fight is peaceful.

“Our fight is peaceful. A peaceful fight is specific. If I sit here today as a captive, it is also part of the peaceful fight. I won’t consider myself the victim of the regime. I am a warrior. They drew a parallel with the 1924 uprising, but we will not share the fate of those people; we will win,” he said.

The Tbilisi City Court has ordered the detention of Paata Burchuladze, Murtaz Zodelava, Irakli Nadiradze, Paata Manjgaladze, and Lasha Beridze, the organisers of the October 4 protest rally, as a preventive measure.
