Kakhaber Kemoklidze left Ergneti meeting in protest

Kakhaber Kemoklidze, Deputy Head of Information-Analytical Department of the State Security Service of Georgia left the meeting within the frame of the of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism in protest.

According to Kemoklidze, two main issues were discussed at the meeting concerning the transfer of Archil Tatunashvili’s body and the issue of the two citizens who are kept in occupied Tskhinvali.

“It was a very difficult meeting. Obviously, at today’s meeting we asked two main questions in the context of Tatunashvili’s case – when the family will be able to get the body and when the two citizens of Georgia will be able to leave the occupied territory of Akhalgori. After the discussion that lasted for two and a half hours we did not get a clear answer to any of the abovementioned questions.

We decided to suspend this meeting temporarily because the case of Tatunashvili, the incident that took place on February 22, is of utmost interest for the central government of Georgia. We will go on discussions on all other important issues when Tatunashvili’s body is returned to his family,” – Kakhaber Kemoklidze said.
