Kakha Guledani to assume office of Regional Development Minister

Kakha Guledani will assume the position of Georgia’s Minister of Regional Development, as announced by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

Grigol Liluashvili had previously been named for the ministerial post; however, according to Prime Minister Kobakhidze, consultations revealed fundamental differences in approaches to the ministry’s operations.

“Several days ago, based on consultations with the parliamentary majority, we decided to establish the Ministry of Regional Development of Georgia.

Additionally, we announced that Mr. Grigol Liluashvili would hold this position. During the past few days, we had consultations with Grigol Liluashvili, and it became clear that he had different approaches regarding the ministry’s operational principles, including personnel policy to be implemented within the ministry.

Consequently, we have decided that Grigol Liluashvili will no longer take the position of Minister of Regional Development. We reached this decision jointly.

Kakha Guledani will be appointed as Georgia’s Minister of Regional Development. He has extensive experience in management and working on regional issues. For years, he worked in the private sector, and from 2016-2017, he held the position of Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia.

Later, he took on roles as the head of Samgori district and the head of Tbilisi Municipal Inspection, and he has been serving as Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi until now. I wish Kakha Guledani success in his new position as Georgia’s Minister of Regional Development,” stated Kobakhidze.
