Judges to receive salary increases under amendments to Law on Common Courts

Judges of the Supreme, Appeals, City, and Regional Courts can anticipate raises in their monthly salaries following recent amendments to the Law on Common Courts.

The new salary structure will be based on position coefficients. The Chairman of the Supreme Court will have the highest coefficient at 10, with the base salary set at GEL 1,460 for 2025. Consequently, the monthly salary for the Supreme Court Chair will amount to GEL 14,600 (net salary of GEL 11,680). Under this proposed framework, the Supreme Court Chair’s salary will be comparable to the remuneration of the President, Prime Minister, and Parliament Speaker.

Deputy Chairs and judges’ salaries will also be calculated according to their respective coefficients. The monthly salary for the Appeals Court will be approximately GEL 12,264, the Chair of Tbilisi City Court will receive GEL 11,972, and chairs of regional courts will earn GEL 10,950.

Under the current law, the salary for the Supreme Court Chair is GEL 7,000, the Chair of the Appeals Court earns GEL 5,800, and an Appeals Court judge receives GEL 5,000. The Chair of the Regional (City) Court is paid GEL 4,600, city court judges and magistrates earn GEL 4,000, while judges in reserve receive GEL 500.
