James Appathurai - NATO will continue to respect Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity

NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai commented about the illegal borderization works carried out by Russian occupational forces on April 17 on Facebook.

“As Georgians celebrate Easter under extraordinary circumstances, the COVID crisis makes cooperation across boundaries all the more important. That makes the developments at the Administrative Boundary Line in the Kareli Municipality all the more regrettable.

NATO will continue to respect Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders,” James Appathurai wrote.

Russian occupational forces carried out illegal borderization works near Tatktisdziri village, Kareli district of Shida Karli region of Georgia on April 17.
