Georgian PM meets NATO SG Special Representative

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai at the governmental administration.

Georgian PM thanked the NATO SG’s Special Representative for supporting Georgia’s NATO integration process and the country’s territorial integrity. The sides welcomed the intensification of NATO-Georgia cooperation and underlined the significance of the upcoming visit of the NATO Military Committee scheduled for September.

Irakli Garibashvili and James Appathurai discussed security challenges in the Black Sea region and the current state across Georgian occupied territories. PM stressed the importance of the international community’s support for the release of Georgian citizens unlawfully detained by the occupied Tskhinvali regime.

NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia met Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani, Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze and Parliament Speaker Kakha Kuchava earlier on Friday as part of his Georgia visit.
