Irakli Gharibashvili: Integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures remains a firm priority for Georgia's foreign and security policy

Integration into the European and Euro-Atlantic structures remains a firm, unwavering priority for Georgia’s foreign and security policy, – the candidate for the Minister of Defence Irakli Gharibashvili said at a joint sitting of four parliamentary committees.

As Gharibashvili notes, achieving maximum compatibility with NATO will be the main goal of Georgian Defence Forces.

“Prior to joining NATO and the EU, we make every effort to develop our Defence Forces gradually and achieve maximum compatibility with NATO through our enhanced work and cooperation with strategic partnerships”, – Irakli Gharibashvili said.

At the joint sitting of the four Parliamentary Committees, MPs are listening to the candidate for the Minister of Defence Irakli Gharibashvili within the framework of expression of confidence to the reshuffled government.

Members of the United National Movement and European Georgia do not attend the committee hearings today either.
