The Incidents Prevention and Response Mechanisms (IPRM) group is meeting in Ergneti village, which borders the occupied Tskhinvali region.
Irakli Antadze, Deputy Director of the Analytical Department at the State Security Service of Georgia (SSG), said that the Georgian side would raise the issues on the release of the unlawfully imprisoned Georgian citizens and continued borderization.
According to Antadze, the primary demand will be the identification and punishment of persons involved in the death of Tamaz Ginturi, a Georgian citizen killed by the Russian occupying forces in Kirbali village of the Gori municipality.
“Dangers come from the occupied territories for the population on both sides. Any threat in this context is always the subject of our monitoring and discussion at meetings,” he said.
Antadze remarked that the IPRM meeting was not the format to discuss the issue of Archil Tatunashvili, a former Georgian soldier who was brutally murdered by occupying forces in the occupied Tskhinvali region. He said the Interpol wanted Tatunashvili’s murderers.
In September 2018, Interpol issued a red notice for two individuals, David Gurtsiev and Alik Tabuev, who were charged with Tatunashvili’s murder in absentia.
