Investigative Commission's Head questions Saakashvili's hospital placement, anticipates correction

“We all question whether Mikheil Saakashvili’s place is in the hospital; we know the answer, yet we hope this will soon be corrected,” stated Tea Tsulukiani, chairperson of the Investigative Commission Studying the Activities of the Regime and Political Officials Operating Between 2003-2012, during a commission meeting.

The commission was hearing former MP Valeri Gelashvili regarding cases of rights violations.

According to Tea Tsulukiani, future generations will examine the photo and video evidence that the investigative commission will append to its conclusion. Young people will see that Saakashvili, now a jailed former President of Georgia, was not the father of the nation but a harmful and malevolent force.

“Saakashvili and his NGOs, along with entire parties – later the United National Movement splintered into numerous factions – invested immense effort into this photo-video material, and not solely on this case. To this day, they attempt to destroy, lose, or erase it from memory. Our commission must prevent this. Our conclusion will include every photo and video as appendices, which future generations will scrutinize, revealing that this was not the father of the nation, as he portrays himself, but a harmful, evil force.

As Sozar Subari articulated, he “engaged in warfare against his own people,” from which he emerged decisively vanquished. We all question if his place is in the hospital today; we know the answer, but we hope this too will soon be corrected,” Tsulukiani declared.
