Interior Minister inspects renovated fleet and new mobile forensic laboratories of Forensic Department
Minister of Internal Affairs Geka Geladze, accompanied by his deputy Shalva Tadumadze, visited the Forensic Department to inspect the recently renovated vehicle fleet and the new mobile forensic laboratories.
The Minister underscored the vital role of forensic expertise in the investigative process, emphasising that modern mobile laboratories enable prompt and precise examination of crime scenes. He highlighted that these advancements will be instrumental in swiftly solving crimes and establishing the objective truth.
In response, Tengiz Sisauri, Director of the Forensic Department, stated that the upgraded equipment and mobile laboratories will significantly enhance the ability to swiftly recover evidence and perform initial analyses in accordance with international standards.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has acquired new vehicles and two advanced, high-tech mobile forensic laboratories for the Tbilisi and regional units of the Forensic Department. These laboratories are equipped with specialised workspaces, storage facilities, dactyloscopic and habitoscopic research apparatus, as well as modern chemical and radiation detection equipment.
