Interior Minister engages in talks with U.S. Bureau of Narcotics and Law Enforcement Cooperation Director
Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs, Geka Geladze, met with Mark Tervakoski, Director of the Bureau of Narcotics and Law Enforcement Cooperation for Europe and Asia at the United States Department of State.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, during the meeting, the Minister emphasised the ongoing and completed reforms within the ministry, as well as the measures undertaken to combat crime, including drug-related offences.
“The parties also explored the productive partnership between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Bureau for Cooperation with Anti-Narcotics and Law Enforcement Agencies, along with future collaboration plans,” the ministry’s statement noted.
The meeting took place as part of the ongoing international forum in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, organised by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan. The forum is attended by leaders of relevant agencies from various countries, experts in the field, and representatives of international and regional organisations.
