Infrastructure Minister: Irresponsible companies to be restricted from participation in tenders

“The issue of participation in tenders is decided by the legislation instead of officials. If a particular company was not restricted by law from participating in the tender, it could participate and win,” said Revaz Sokhadze, Minister of Infrastructure, following a meeting with representatives of Construction Companies and Commercial Banks.

According to Revaz Sokhadze, as a result of tightening the so-called black listed approach, irresponsible companies that do not fulfill their obligations to the state will be banned from participating in tenders.

The Minister highlighted that the change adequately addresses the challenges facing the infrastructure sector.

“The changes will radically improve the situation in the construction sector and establish a fair environment,” he said.
