Immunization Council to discuss Sinovac vaccine use

Immunization Council will discuss administering the Chinese Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine during the meeting on Tuesday.

The council will also consider lowering the age for the AstraZeneca vaccine, said Amiran Gamkrelidze, Head of the National Centre for Diseases Control and Public Health (NCDC).

According to Amiran Gamkrelidze, the demand for AZ vaccine exceeds the supply at the moment. He also urged for intensification of the immunization process.

Gamkrelidze underlined the need for tripling the vaccination brigades and their switch for a 7-day operation. He said the number of bridges should reach three hundred against the current 161 by the end of June. Each brigade should make 42-50 shots daily.
