IMF works with Georgian government for provision of additional financial resources
Mercedes Vera-Martin, Head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission to Georgia said in a statement that the IMF was actively working with Georgian government for provision of additional financial resources.
Based on the statement, the pandemic of novel coronavirus worsened the development perspective of the Georgian economy and the government, in response, was carrying out various measures to reduce the effect of shock on the population and economy.
“IMF is actively working with the Georgian government to provide additional financial resources within the framework of ongoing program to curb spread of the virus and in support of economy and Georgian people. Aside of diminishing effect of shock, IMF may stimulate other donors,” Vera-Martin said.
