The Orthodox Church marks St. George Day on 6 May. Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II is delivering a liturgy at Sameba (Holy Trinity) Cathedral.

Today is a special day for Georgia and we ask St. George to be an intermediary between Georgia and God, – Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II stated during the sermon.

St. George’s day is marked twice a year, on May 6 and November 23. The 6 May holiday marks the death of Saint George.
