Construction of three 12-storey residential blocs at Nikea Street in Kutaisi is entering the final stage. The residential block is under construction at Shervashidze Street. In total 1040 IDP families will receive new apartments in several months, the Health Ministry reported.
The project value exceeds GEL 77 million. Deputy Health Minister Giorgi Tsagareishvili, Director of the Agency for Refugees, Ecomigrants and Livelihood Provision, Zurab Utiashvili and Kutaisi single-mandate MP Zaza Lominadze inspected the ongoing works.
“At the decision of the Georgian government, an unprecedented large-scale resettlement program kicked off in 2023. Residential complexes are being built simultaneously in five cities – Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Zugdidi, Rustavi and Borjomi. Within the framework of the project, a total of 13,000 IDP families will receive housing,” the Ministry said.
