Iago Khvichia to run for Tbilisi Mayor from Girchi party

Iago Khvichia will run for the post of Mayor in Tbilisi from the Girchi party in the October 4 local elections.

Girchi member Herman Sabo presented the party’s candidate. He said Khvichia was revealed as the winner through the primary.

Herman Sabo also nominated three candidates as members of the Tbilisi City Assembly (Sakrebulo). Iago Khvichia, in his turn, nominated Aleksandre Rakviashvili for the post of vice-mayor.

The Georgian Dream’s Tbilisi Mayoral candidate is Kakha Kaladze. The Lelo and Gakharia-for Georgia parties have a joint candidate – Irakli Kupradze.
