Heritage Foundation – Georgia’s integration into NATO in interests of US and Europe

Georgia’s integration into NATO is in interests of US and Europe — reads the report of US research institute Heritage Foundation. Luke Coffey, Director of the Allison Center for Foreign Policy Studies at the Heritage Foundation writes that Russia’s aggressive moves did not prevent Georgia to abstain from taking steps in establishing tight contacts with the West.

“Georgia is an important contributor to Trans-Atlantic security. After split of the Soviet Union, Georgia became a sparkle of hope in the region. Transformation of power took place through elections, Georgia carried out economic reforms,” the expert writes.

Based on the report, it is important that the 2018 NATO Summit stresses that Georgia deserves membership of the alliance.

Representatives of Allison Center for Foreign Policy Studies at the Heritage Foundation believe that the US should remain as supporter of Georgia’s NATO membership.
