Heavy rain causes problems in Batumi

Heavy rain from last night caused problems in Batumi, a seaside city of the Adjara region. Several streets, residential yards, cellars and ground floors were flooded.

According to Batumi City Hall, the Batumi Water and Adjara Water Alliance companies are implementing water pumping out works and clearing channels leading to the sea.

Heavy rain obstructed public transport movement, while electric power was cut off to the majority of residents. Restoration works continue intensively. All relevant municipal services are engaged in the elimination of inflicted damage.
