Health Minister: WB report debunks opposition claims of Georgia’s failure
The World Bank report serves as a stark reality check for oppositionists attempting to portray Georgia as a failure, stated Minister of Health Mikheil Sarjveladze.
Commenting on the WB report, which highlights Georgia’s progress in poverty reduction and equality—attributing this success to high economic growth and strong socio-economic policies—Sarjveladze emphasized the importance of ensuring that these positive trends benefit every citizen.
“This is extremely encouraging news. The facts and evidence show that Georgia’s economic growth is not just superficial but genuinely serves the well-being of its people. The country’s positive economic dynamics must translate into tangible benefits for all citizens. Such progress warrants an unequivocal assessment,” he said.
Sarjveladze added that, while some may dismiss these achievements, the reality is undeniable.
“For some, this comes as a cold shower, a wake-up call—an unwelcome reality check for opposition-minded experts who persist in portraying Georgia as a failure politically, economically, or socially. The facts and indicators clearly show that Georgia is on a path of progress. This progress is reflected not only in economic statistics but also in the fair distribution of wealth and opportunities—evidence supported by numerous indices,” he concluded.
