Georgian Health Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze pays an official visit to Germany. He participates in the 8th German-Eastern European Health Forum.
The forum aims to exchange experience and foster cooperation among decision- makers from partner countries.
Mikheil Sarjveladze participated in a high-level ministerial panel on the topic “Economic Benefits of a Strong Healthcare Sector.”
The Minister said that health represented a strategic investment, a development strategy ensuring employment, attraction of investments and strengthening trust towards institutions. He spoke about reforms implemented in Georgia and referral pricing on medicines.
Mikheil Sarjveladze emphasized that this year, the World Health Organization granted Georgia the status of a malaria-free country, which is clear evidence that “consistent investment in public health capacity protects both people and the economy.”
