Head of Government Administration highlights Georgia’s progress in transparency index

Georgia’s advancement in transparency in the Chandler Good Government Index Report, prepared by the Chandler Institute of Governance (CIG), is attributed to recent reforms,” said Levan Zhorzholiani, Head of the Administration of the Government of Georgia.

As Zhorzholiani explained, the report places Georgia ahead of 29 European Union member states, Schengen zone countries, and NATO members, ranking the Georgian government ninth across Europe.

“Georgia’s progress is directly linked to the reforms recently implemented. Notably, all decrees have now been made public by the Prime Minister’s decision. This means that any government decision can be accessed and reviewed by all interested parties. Such transparency significantly supports the fight against corruption, which remains one of the greatest challenges faced by governments. Transparency itself acts as a safeguard for authorities against corruption risks. Additionally, Georgia ranks first in the world for budget transparency. Transparency is one of the core principles guiding the current government,” Zhorzholiani stated.
