Head of the Public Relations Service of the Georgian Patriarchate, Andria Jaghmaidze, vowed to raise the parole issue regarding prisoners of conscience with the government.
Andria Jaghmaidze responded to the question: “You said on April 9 that after the election of the Patriarch, the issue of prisoners of conscience would be reconsidered. Is it possible that the Patriarchate will again appeal to the Georgian Dream? Do you know Shio III’s viewpoint on pardoning prisoners of conscience?”
Jaghmaidze said the issue still stands.
“I said that we would raise the issue with the government, and I confirm that this will happen. It’s very difficult to talk about plans right now, about what will happen. We have a lot of things to sort out right now. I confirm that it will happen,” he said.
