Head of Border Police meets with IOM Georgia Mission Chief

The Head of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Colonel Davit Tamazashvili, welcomed Lars Johan Lönnback, the Head of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) Mission in Georgia. The meeting was of an introductory nature and was attended by the Deputy Heads of the Border Police as well as a representative from the Ministry’s International Relations Department.

During the discussions, both parties explored opportunities for long-term partnership and cooperation between IOM and Georgia’s Border Police in the realm of border protection. The Head of the Border Police outlined the agency’s key priorities and upcoming plans, sharing insights into its strategic direction with the guests.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Colonel Tamazashvili expressed his gratitude to the IOM representatives for their ongoing active support in enhancing the capabilities of the Border Police.
