Grigol Vashadze - We may forgive the Russian Federation, but we will never forget
We may forgive the Russian Federation, but we will never forget – presidential candidate of several opposition parties Grigol Vashadze told reporters at Mukhatgverdi Brothers cemetery in connection with the 10th anniversary of August 2008 Georgia-Russia war.
“Russia had prepared everything in the military-terrorist aggression of 2008. Russia’s military forces were already deployed in Tskhinvali region, Ossetian gangs were trained. The number of civilian casualties was previously determined, which was voiced by someone Bastrikin in 2008. But Georgia maintained its statehood by the heroism and bloodshed of these people.
Since 1990, it was the sixth war that Georgia had with Russia, but this war was the first when the strategic and tactical plan of the Russian Federation was directed to the destruction of the statehood of Georgia. This plan was failed with the efforts of our army and the population, as well as the government and allies of Georgia. We will never forget this, we may forgive the Russian Federation but we will never forget,” Vashadze said.
