GPB First Channel’s new building wins Architectural Award 2025

The new building of the GPB First Channel won the Architectural Award 2025. Chief Architect of Tbilqalaqproject, Levan Siamashvili, was awarded in the nomination “Best Public Building.”

This year, 167 Georgian and foreign architects, designers and students participated in the annual popular competition organized by Style Magazine and the Georgian Association of Architects. The jury revealed winners in 11 nominations.

Founded in 2006, the annual international competition has been held ever since for professionals working in the fields of architecture and design.

According to GPB Director General Tinatin Berdzenishvili, “victory is always exciting.”

“I extend my congratulations to our team and society, which revealed this architectural project through a competition. Significantly, the project, which belongs to the city and was built with public funds, wins in a similar competition.

The GPB First Channel’s building is nominated for many competitions and, I think, will triumph again. It is noteworthy that the project was designed by a group of Georgian architects, while Georgian society gave a high assessment. Now, we have the victory, we are all proud of,” she said.

Chief Architect of Tbilqalaqproject Levan Siamashvili remarked that the project was successfully completed with the daily involvement of the GPB team.

“It is significant for us that the GPB’s building was nominated in the category of “Best Public Building” of the Architectural Award 2025. TV-Radio broadcasting is one of the difficult tasks for architects, requiring much effort. Every successful project is important, and behind every architectural award is a successful client. The project was successfully completed with the daily involvement of the GPB team,” he said.

Founder of the Architectural Award competition, Dimitri Mosulishvili, clarified that several projects were nominated in the “Best Public Building” category and the GPB First Channel’s building became the winner at the decision of the jury.

“Eleven nominations were submitted to the competition, among them ‘a public building.’ The GPB First Channel’s building was one of the projects in this nomination, which deserved the jury’s admiration, and it won. My congratulations to GPB’s management, administration and all those who contributed to this project. I think it was a good initiative, welcoming, and the result turned out quite impressive,” he said.
