Gov’t: tourism revival ‘progressing at rapid rate’

Georgian government stated on Monday that the tourism revival is ‘progressing at a rapid rate.’

The Prime Minister’s Annual Report states that, as of 2023, the number of overseas visitors was 7,072,220, up 75.6% from the previous year.

“The number of international travellers reached 4,669,467, representing a 91.9% recovery rate from 2019 and a 27.8% increase over 2022. The recovery’s dynamics remain solid; according to statistics from the first quarter of 2024, the number of visits made by foreign travellers was 1,300,551, representing an 80.4% increase over the figures from 2019. The number of tourist visits topped the figures from 2019 by 6.4% (938,644), according to the report.
