Gov't to provide dwelling to 1000 families in harsh living conditions
The Georgian government session, led by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, discussed several issues, including the Government’s draft decree on the approval of the targeted state program for the homeless, multi-child families resettlement, who face harsh living conditions.
According to the Government Administration, the state aims to provide new dwellings to approximately 1000 families facing challenging living conditions. The total budget allocated for the program is GEL 50 million.
The program’s aim is to support socially vulnerable, homeless families with many children and ensure decent living conditions for them.
Eligible families are those with three or more minor children, all of whose members are registered in the unified database of socially vulnerable families of the social service agency.
The relevant commission will evaluate the criteria to decide on housing families.
The program is set to continue until the end of 2025, and the resettlement will be conducted in any administrative-territorial unit of Georgia.
