Government officials from Georgia and Azerbaijan hold expanded meeting led by Georgian Prime Minister and the President of Azerbaijan
Following the face-to-face meeting between Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev, negotiations continued in an expanded format, involving senior members of both governments.
According to the Georgian Government Administration, the discussions focused on the growing trade and economic cooperation between the two nations and the vital importance of fully capitalising on the existing potential in this area.
“The dialogue also addressed our close partnership in the energy sector, as well as regional transport and energy projects that Georgia and Azerbaijan are jointly advancing. Among these, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway was highlighted, given its vital role in ensuring regional connectivity,” the statement read.
Attending the meeting were Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, Head of the Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani, Georgia’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zurab Pataradze, and from Azerbaijan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov, Presidential Foreign Policy Assistant Hikmet Hajiyev, Minister of Economy Mikail Jabbarov, Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov, Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiev, and Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia Faig Guliyev.
