Girchi’s Iago Khvichia has little faith in Zourabichvili’s leadership, says Khazaradze has money, and will manoeuvre for headship
“I see the opposition and Salome Zourabichvili have already united, but I remain uncertain about how they will solidify this unity through mere gestures and embraces. I wish them success, as the Georgian Charter brought these individuals together and they collectively renounced their parliamentary seats through the efforts of Zourabichvili and her associates,” stated Iago Khvichia, leader of the Girchi party.
Khvichia expressed his belief that these figures lack genuine principles.
“I’m unsure what further unity will entail, but I welcome the coalition among the Natsis (supporters of the UNM) opposition, as it will create less confusion for the public. It would be beneficial if Madam Salome actively participated and persuaded our dear opposition representatives not to run in any elections. This decision would serve the interests of the Georgian people.
Principles shouldn’t stand in their way, as they seem to be devoid of such convictions.
Regarding leadership, I suspect that Mamuka Khazaradze of Lelo will assert himself through financial influence. My confidence in Salome Zourabichvili’s ability to lead is limited. Given Khazaradze’s resources, he is likely to claim leadership. We shall see. Regardless of who emerges as the leader, if these individuals choose not to participate in the elections, they can lead each other or play at being leaders. I see no issue with that,” he remarked.
