Giorgi Margvelashvili meets Chair of Committee on Foreign Affairs of EU parliament

President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili has met with MEP, Chair of Committee on Foreign Affairs of EU parliament David McAllister within the framework of his working visit to Brussels.

According to the Press Service of the Presidential Administration, the sides discussed the EU-Georgia agenda and future European perspectives during working lunch.

Giorgi Margvelashvili expressed his concern over the tragic death of a Georgian soldier in the occupied territories. It was underlined that the European Parliament expressed willingness to adopt another resolution on Georgia with regard to the 10th anniversary of the occupation of Georgian territories by Russia.

Giorgi Margvelashvili thanked David McAllister for the clear support that Georgia has from European lawmakers in the process of European integration. The President of Georgia also informed the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee on the measures planned and implemented by the Government of Georgia for the purpose of preventing the violation of visa free movement rules.
