Giorgi Kvirikashvili congratulates Georgia on Referendum Day

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili congratulates whole Georgia on Referendum Day. In congratulatory letter, PM notes that May 31, 1991, turned out historic where Georgian people fixed their firm wish about restoration of Georgia’s independence.

The main actor of the day was Georgia’s First President Zviad Gamsakhurdia, who would have turned 79 today.

“Georgian people have never betrayed the idea of independence. The day laid foundation to restoration of independence and determination of Georgia’s future. Georgian people across whole territory of our country including Abkhazia and Samachablo regions voted for independence,” reads the statement of PM.
