The Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Kvirikashvili awarded the world’s best weightlifter of 2017. The award ceremony has been held in Rustaveli Theater in Tbilisi today.
Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Minister of Culture and Sports Mikheil Giorgadze handed over the awards of Wrestling Federation and Ministry of Culture and Sports to the Olympic, World and European Champion Lasha Talakhadze and Olympic, World and European Champion, Spanish athlete Lydia Valentin.
The Prime Minister congratulated the world’s best weightlifters and thanked the International Federation of Weightlifting (IWF) for holding the award ceremony in Tbilisi.
The ceremony has been attended by the President of the International Federation of Weightlifting Tamás Aján, Secretary General of European Weightlifting Federation, the representatives of Georgian government and parliament, Olympic champions and sports community representatives.
