“A suspicious individual arrives in Tbilisi at a suspicious time and makes a suspicious statement following suspicious meetings,” Giorgi Gakharia, the leader of the For Georgia party, commented on the visit of Alain Berset, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, in a video posted on social media.

“If Bidzina Ivanishvili believes, and it appears he does, that such political deception will give any legitimacy to the illegal regime, it will not succeed. This is simply a futile attempt. I can only offer one piece of advice: Unconditionally release all those who were illegally detained following the protests. It is also essential to speak directly to the Georgian people and immediately set a date for new elections,” said Giorgi Gakharia.
