Giorgi Gakharia: Ministry of Health has been instructed to tighten control on border

According to the Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Gakharia, several important points of control are necessary to be introduced for the restoration of tourism.
According to Gakharia, first of all, it concerns a land as well as air border.

As the head of government noted, the Ministry of Health has already been instructed to tighten control over people entering Georgia.
“As for control system, before we had 14-day 24-hour quarantine but now terms should be reduced and all this could be completed within an hour. There are opportunities and technologies for this and the Ministry of Health will make a corresponding decision soon, ” – Giorgi Gakharia said.

At the same time, according to PM, Georgia considers turning Tskaltubo, Gudauri, Sairme, Abastumani, Borjomi, and other resorts into safe tourist zones from COVID-19.

“As you know, Georgia has the opportunity to allocate safe tourist zones from COVID-19. These could be Tskaltubo, Gudauri, Sairme, Abastumani, Borjomi, and many more, especially those resorts that have historically been positioned as zones for respiratory rehabilitation,” Giorgi Gakharia said at the meeting with an economy group within inter-agency coordination council.
