Giorgi Gakharia: It’s hard to see empty Kakheti in such weather

We must do everything possible to slowly, very carefully, activate the economy in accordance with all the rules, first of all, it concerns tourism, – the Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia said at a meeting with representatives of the tourism sector in Kakheti.

He said the fight against the virus was primarily about health, but the economy should not be forgotten.

“We are trying to do everything possible to ensure that human health is the number one priority in the fight against the virus. It is a matter of pride to say this in Kakheti, because everything is going perfectly here in terms of health, but we should not forget the economy. It’s hard to see empty Kakheti in such weather, in such season. Therefore, we must do everything possible to slowly, very carefully, in accordance with all the rules, activate the economy, and, first of all, it concerns tourism, ” – the Prime Minister said.

According to him, in recent years a great competence in the field of hospitality in Kakheti has been accumulated, new hotels have been built which need customers.
