German Ambassador departs from Georgian Foreign Ministry

The German Ambassador to Georgia, Peter Fischer, has departed from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“I made a statement before I went in. I refer you to that statement, and I also refer you to the statement of 33 embassies from this morning,” Peter Fischer told reporters upon leaving the Foreign Ministry.

Before entering the Ministry, Fischer addressed the media, stating, “I have been formally summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. A summoning is a form of diplomatic sanction. It is highly unusual between friendly states.”
