GeoStat reports foreign visitors spent 15 billion GEL in Georgia in 2025
According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat), 7.8 million international non-resident travellers entered Georgia in 2025, a 5.9% increase from the previous year. The majority, 43.6%, were aged 31–50.
International visits reached 6.9 million, up 6.2% from 2024, while the total number of international visitors stood at 5.8 million, an increase of 7.0%. Of these, 5.5 million visits were for tourism purposes, an 8.4% rise. Among visitors, 80.6% were tourists only, 15.4% were excursionists only, and 3.9% were both.
The largest share of visitors came from Russia, with 1.3 million visitors (23.2%), followed by Türkiye (16.9%) and Armenia (11.9%). The top visit destinations were Tbilisi and the Adjara Autonomous Region, with 3.8 million and 2.7 million visits, respectively.
Visitors were predominantly aged 31–50 (46.4%), with women accounting for 43.0%. Leisure, entertainment, and recreation were the primary motivations for visits, accounting for 50.3% of all trips.
The average stay was 5.6 nights, a slight increase from 5.5 nights in 2024, with 78.4% of visits being repeat visits. Total expenditure during visits reached 15.0 billion GEL, a 5.1% increase, though the average spend per visit decreased slightly by 1.1% to 2,187.3 GEL.
