GeoStat: Georgia’s foreign trade in goods slightly edges up by 0.2% in Q1 2026
According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat), Georgia’s foreign trade in goods (excluding undeclared trade) reached USD 5,867.0 million in the first three months of 2026, marking a modest increase of 0.2 per cent compared to the same period last year.
Of this total, exports rose significantly by 23.4 per cent, amounting to USD 1,723.7 million, while imports declined by 7.1 per cent to USD 4,143.2 million.
The country’s trade deficit for January to March 2026 stood at USD 2,419.5 million, representing 41.2 per cent of Georgia’s total foreign trade turnover.
Furthermore, the report highlights that the ten largest trading partners accounted for 67.0 per cent of Georgia’s total foreign trade during this period. The leading partners were Turkey, with USD 802.1 million in trade; Russia, with USD 738.0 million; and China, with USD 690.7 million.
