GeoStat: Georgia's economy approaches 105 billion lari mark at current prices

According to preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat) for 2025, the country’s gross domestic product at current prices has reached 104,598.1 million lari, representing a 12.4 per cent increase compared to the previous year. Real GDP growth in 2025 stood at 7.5 per cent compared to the prior year, while the GDP deflator increased by 4.6 per cent over the same period.

In terms of sectoral composition, the largest share of GDP was accounted for by wholesale and retail trade, motor vehicle and motorcycle repair, and real estate activities. These were followed by manufacturing (9.1%), information and communications (8.0%), construction (8.0%), public administration and defence and compulsory social security (6.7%), education (6.4%), transport and storage (6.1%), and agriculture, forestry and fishing (5.9%).

The sectors making the most significant contributions to growth in 2025 relative to the same period of the previous year were information and communications (28.7%), education (24.5%), financial and insurance activities (12.9%), public administration and defence and compulsory social security (9.3%), transport and storage (8.9%), real estate activities (5.0%), and wholesale and retail trade and motor vehicle and motorcycle repair (3.8%).

Conversely, the sectors registering the most notable contractions were agriculture, forestry and fishing (−5.7%) and the supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (−4.5%).
